Modelling Indoor Environmental Performance of Pharmaceutical Factory Buildings in Nigeria

چکیده
Pharmaceutical factory buildings (PFBs) are expected to provide indoor environmental performance suitable enhance workers’ well-being and productivity. This study examined the of PFBs in Nigeria towards modeling an enhanced worker’s Fourteen were purposively selected as investigation sites with a field survey conducted Southwest Nigeria. Several types equipment used obtain IAQ data (that is air temperature, relative humidity, airflow velocity well concentration carbon dioxide (CO2), particulate matter, TVOC, HCHO) along subjective evaluation perception workers information on their working environment within factories. Findings showed that average temperature (29.42°C); (0.98 m/s) formaldehyde (0.87ppm) beyond acceptable recommended threshold by ASHRAE WHO. However, values obtained for CO2, PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10 satisfactory. The concludes suggesting ways improve proposed model

Factory Modelling: Combining Energy Modelling for Buildings and Production Systems
Traditionally, manufacturing facilities and building services are analysed separately to manufacturing operations. This is despite manufacturing operations using and discarding energy with the support of facilities. Therefore improvements in energy and other resource use to work towards sustainable manufacturing have been sub-optimal. This paper presents research in which buildings, facilities ...
متن کاملOccupant Satisfaction with Indoor Environmental Quality in Green Buildings
This paper summarizes the results of a large indoor environmental quality survey in office buildings, comparing green with non-green buildings. On average, occupants in green buildings were more satisfied with thermal comfort and air quality in their workspace. However, the average satisfaction scores in green buildings for lighting and acoustic quality were comparable to the non-green average....
متن کاملIndoor Environmental Quality in Mechanically Ventilated, Energy-Efficient Buildings vs. Conventional Buildings
Energy-efficient buildings need mechanical ventilation. However, there are concerns that inadequate mechanical ventilation may lead to impaired indoor air quality. Using a semi-experimental field study, we investigated if exposure of occupants of two types of buildings (mechanical vs. natural ventilation) differs with regard to indoor air pollutants and climate factors. We investigated living a...
متن کاملDeriving an Indoor Environmental Index for Portuguese Office Buildings
In 2002, the European Commission (EU) issued a Directive aiming to reduce the energy consumption of buildings, which was adopted by the EU member states and came into force in 2006. Portugal adopted it by issuing law decrees in 2006 which considered not only the energy saving aspects but also additional specific measures aiming to protect indoor air quality (IAQ). This new legislation is now be...
